Professor Robin Jarvis

Robin brings a deep understanding of finance including the issues affecting SME access to finance – especially relevant now given concerns about how the financial system is meeting the needs of the real economy.

He is Professor of Accounting at Brunel University and also holds the Malta Institute of Accountancy Chair in Financial Reporting at the University of Malta. He is currently a member of the IASB’s IFRS for SMEs Implementation Group. In recent years his interest has extended to banking and financial services. He chairs the Advisory Panel to the Chartered Banker Professional Standards Boards where he is also a Board member.

From the European perspective he is a member of European Commission Financial Services User Group (FSUG), the European Banking Authorities (EBA) Banking Stakeholder Group and a member of their Committee of Transparency and Independence of Finance Watch. Robin was appointed in 2013 to the Jury of the Robin Cosgrove Prize in Financial Ethics. He was appointed by the Welsh Government to their SME Access to Finance Advisory Panel. Robin is the author of 10 books and numerous research papers.
