Matt Earnshaw

Matt brings significant strategic and operational ‘hands on’ experience across the financial inclusion, community regeneration and social justice fields to his role as an associate consultant with the FIC.  During a 20 year career, he has worked directly with a range of different stakeholders (including Housing Associations; Local Authorities; Government and voluntary/community organisations), gaining expertise in developing financial inclusion policy, alongside designing, delivering and evaluating effective support programmes to tackle poverty and help those who are financially and socially excluded. Most recently at Circle Housing (now Clarion) Matt was the strategic lead for the financial and digital inclusion agenda and participated in a number of national research and development projects.  As a consultant, Matt’s work has covered a diverse range of issues including the design of emergency food and fuel schemes, delivery of projects to improve access to affordable credit, capacity building of charitable/community-led organisations, the evaluation of financial inclusion projects and money advice services, measuring social impact and the design of good practice guidance.
